Vindicated

Rod Blagojevich SuperstarGovernor Rod Blagojevich was convicted of only one of the 24 charges against him, Lying to a Federal agent.  And who among us hasn’t done that from time to time?  The jury was hung on all other counts, and no decision has been made as to whether the charges will be refiled and another trial held ( at the cost of $11 million.)

Illinois Does a Few Adult Films to Make Ends Meet

Written on August 9, 2010 – 4:14 am | by Freedy |

***Breaking News from the Onion***

The State of Illinois has admitted that it has appeared in several adult films in order to make ends meet until the current budgetary crisis is over.  Considering how screwed we are already, we might as well start getting paid for it.

Jurors resume deliberations

Written on August 2, 2010 – 8:46 am | by Freedy |

The jurors in the Rod Blagojevich corruption case resume deliberations today after taking the weekend off.  The jurors get to set their own schedule, and have decided on a 9-5, Monday to Friday schedule, even though the trial only ran Monday through Thursday.  Since most of the 24 charges against him are based in technical and legal realms, mostly conspiracy to commit crimes, instead of actual crimes, the deliberations could take awhile, possibly weeks.

Rod Overshadowing all other Illinois Problems

Written on August 2, 2010 – 5:22 am | by Freedy |

The Rod Blagojevich trial has captured the attention of the country more so than any other story, with the exception possibly of the Chelsea Clinton wedding, American Idol judging fiasco, or anything Lindsay Lohan. But the State of Illinois needs attention also! “significant” Statehouse developments have gone unnoticed by the public due to shameless grandstanding by all parties involved.  Illinois has the largest budget deficit in the nation, if you ignore about a third of the other states in our nation.  We have high property taxes, sales tax, and state income tax to pay, and in return we get nothing but reduced services, laid off teachers, and politicians that can’t get anyone to bribe them.  Without bribes, how will the Jacobs family and others survive?  The media needs to quit forcing celebrity scandal down our gullets and instead feed us a diet of real news, so we can be aware of how deep into the septic tank we have sunk.

Don’t Call It A Comeback

Written on October 10, 2009 – 7:22 am | by Freedy |

Been missing your recommended daily allowance of  Rod lately? Rumours say that Governor Blagojevich will be one of the contestants on the new season of Celebrity Apprentice.

Steve Webster, a spokesman for the show’s producer, said he could neither confirm nor deny that, because no contestants have yet been confirmed. The show’s 14 contestants won’t be announced until late January or early February, Webster said.

American Police Force Corporation Takes Over Small Town Police Force

Written on September 30, 2009 – 4:58 am | by Freedy |

How is this for fiction becoming Reality.  I’m reminded of the corporations in Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson.  A newly created California corporation, named American Police Force Corporation show up in a Montana town with SUVs emblazoned with logos identifying them as the town police.  Except the town doesn’t have a police force, it’s covered by the Sheriff’s department.  They are there supposedly to take control of the empty jail, and fill it with prisoners, for a profit.  But no contract has been signed, and one of the people responsible for making the deal for the city has been placed upon unpaid administrative leave with no explanation.

Blagojevich for president in 2012

Written on September 21, 2009 – 5:08 pm | by Freedy |

“When I say ‘comeback,’ I’m not necessarily saying I’m going to run for President. You understand that, right?”  I understand that he’s not necessarily saying he ISN’T.

Plus, you get a bonus video of Rod singing karaoke with Fabio. You’re welcome.
